Joint Investigation Leads to Arrest of Tangipahoa Man for Child Sexual Abuse Material and Additional Charges

Tangipahoa Parish – In September 2026, the Louisiana State Police - Special Victims (LSP SV) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) began a joint investigation into an individual believed to be in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). The investigation resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Gavin Lyvers of Ponchatoula.

The case began after HSI received a cyber-tip regarding the upload and/or download of CSAM on a social media platform. The social media account was identified as belonging to Lyvers, who was located in Louisiana. LSP SV subsequently joined the case. Investigators discovered that Lyvers was using the platform to communicate with minors and solicit CSAM in exchange for items of monetary value.

On November 6, 2026, investigators with LSP and HSI executed an arrest warrant on Lyvers for two counts of LA RS 14:81.1 - Child Sexual Abuse Materials (Felony), five counts of LA RS 14:81 – Indecent Behavior with Juveniles (Felony), and five counts of LA RS14:81.3 - Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor (Felony). He was processed into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. This case remains under investigation.  

The Louisiana State Police - Special Victims remains committed to protecting children from exploitation and holding offenders accountable. Investigators encourage anyone who may have had contact with Lyvers or has information regarding potential additional victims to come forward.
